Murang’a senator Irungu Kang’ata on Tuesday cried like a baby at Citizen TV after he came face to face with three pro Azimio members of parliament.
Irungu Kang’ata stated that it was unfair for Steven Letoo to invite Ugunja member of parliament Opiyo wandayi, Igembe North Constituency Maoka Richard Maore and kathiani constituency member of parliament Robert Mbui.
According to him, these politicians were allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta while he was the only one supporting deputy president William samoei Ruto.
However, Steven Letoo dismissed Irungu Kang’ata’s sentiments as mere propaganda since the four leaders were from different backgrounds and political sides.
Letoo clarified that Opiyo wandai was/is from the opposition party ODM, Robert Mbui was/is in Wiper while both Mr. Maoke and Mr. Kang’ata were in Jubilee party. The News anchor therefore did not find merit in the complaints by the senator.
The three leaders expressed their views on current political matters affecting the country for instance the recent move by the Independent electoral and Boundaries Commission to re-introduce manual voter transmission as a backup.
Mr. Kanga’ata reiterated the UDA stand on the issue that they would not allow such a back up. On their side, the other legislators allied to the Azimio opined that there was nothing wrong with having an alternative avenue of transmitting results just in case technology fails.
Opiyo Wandayi stated that the UDA fraternity were just raising unnecessary alarm because that was just a backup as opposed to doing away with the electronic transmission the way Ruto and his allies have been preaching in political rallies.
In a communication delivered by the Hustler nation Intelligence Bureau (HNIB), the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) even made it clear that they will not cooperate should the Independent and Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) decide to introduce manual transmission of votes.
“Deep State & System, we will announce our results. FYI We will have 55K HNIB accounts each of them announcing results under #KenyaDecides2022 – it is a RELIGIOUS DUTY to BREAK bad Laws! This one we will NOT obey, like Shadrack Meshack &Abednego, Increase the FIRE SEVEN TIMES!” Wrote Dennis Itumbi.
