Residents of Karen want Summer House, a ‘loud’ restaurant owned by Betty Kyallo, closed immediately.
Residents of the neighborhood voice their discontent with The Summer House in a statement dated November 25 from the Karen Lang’ata District Association addressed to the Nairobi City County Government.
They claim that by playing loud music at night, the Summer House restaurant triggers noise pollution, inconveniencing and disturbing individuals who live nearby.
Governor Johnson Sakaja has already closed eight clubs in Nairobi for making noise in residential areas causing disturbance.
Betty Kyallo’s joint officially opened on November 18 and has been operational for about three months. Football players MacDonald Mariga and his brother Victor Wanyama, as well as former Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir, were among the famous attendees at the event.
