Police officers in Bungoma are looking for a man who allegedly burnt his daughter’s genitalia over a boyfriend.
The crime is said to have been committed in Bukembe village, Kanduyi sub-county.
Reports by the police say the incident was reported by the mother of the 16-year-old mother. The teenager is a form two student at Bukembe SA Secondary School.
From the reports, the victim was seriously injured by her father the previous night. The suspect is said to have used electric iron to burn his daughter on the thighs, buttocks, and her sexual organs.
Speaking from her hospital bed at Bungoma County Referral Hospital the young girl complained of serious pain she was enduring. She said she didn’t understand why her father did that to her. “I don’t understand why I had to go through all this,” she said in pain.

According to the victim’s mother, the father received information from the neighbors that his daughter was cohabiting with a young man from within their locality.
Bungoma OCPD Wilson Nanga said the teenager was first treated at a local health center and later transferred to Bungoma County Referral Hospital.
“We have already launched a manhunt for the man and we will arraign him court once arrested,” the OCPD said.
