An angry Julius Kimani Kamau stormed at the Treasury House on Thursday while CS Njuguna Ndung’u, among other dignitaries were posing for a photo, ahead of the much anticipated budget reading.
Ndung’u was however arrested and taken to custody but he continued shouting, giving a glimpse of his frustrations.
He was arraigned at the Milimani Law courts on Friday, where he revealed why he behaved the way he did on Thursday.
According to him, Kenyans are suffering but the government was doing nothing to address the situation.
“People are suffering, nobody cares. I don’t know what is the role of the government. I want to know the role of the government. Our government has failed us, everybody has failed we have also failed ourselves. My concerns not allow me to any time at any moment, I don’t know if this is going to come up anywhere but we must have this debate, we must have this conversation,” he insisted.
He added that the country as well as the courts had fear, citing the case where a magistrate was shot by a police officer at the Makadara Law Courts.
“I want to speak my friends, when you want to tell me to keep silent, my heart is burning because of this country. For 60 years, we have been living like we are not human beings, like we are half human beings. We are considered as children of a lesser God, this can not continue we are ruled by a minority that does not care the interest of the majority,” he said.
Kamau added that, ” we are victims of lies and fed promises for 60 years. I don’t know what is going to happen. Whether you sentence me for 100 years, I am going to speak the truth until the day will reach the world. We can not continue living like this, my dear friends resist that is the only way for this country, for Africa”
Kamau, among other individuals, were charged with causing disturbance in a manner likely to cause breach of peace.
