Ida Odinga’s Personal Assistant Ms Irene Achieng Oloo is one of those President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated for jobs in various missions abroad.
Ms Irene who has worked with Ida Odinga since her days at the League of Kenya Women Voters will serve as the deputy head of mission in New Delhi.
Today’ nominations also saw three former IEBC commissioners get jobs.
In a statement by the Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, Former IEBC Vice-chair Consolata Nkathawas nominated for the position of the deputy head of the Rome Mission.
Former commissioners Margaret Mwachanya and Dr Paul Kibiwott were selected for the Islamabad and Moscow in the deputy positions respectively.
“The persons who by dint of the presidential action will join our nation’s esteemed foreign service,” the notice read in part.
The president also nominated and appointed other individuals to serve the nation as Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Permanent Representatives in Kenya’s Embassies/High Commissions/ missions abroad.
BBI joint secretary Martin Kimani has been appointed the permanent representative at UN New York.
Among those selected for High Commissioners positions are Amb. John Tipis (Canberra), Immaculate Wambua (Ottawa) and Amb. Catherine Mwangi (Pretoria).
Named for the Ambassadors positions were Amb. Jean Kamau (Addis Ababa), Linday Kiptiness (Bangkok), Amb. Tom Amolo (Berlin), Amb. Lemarron Kaanto (Brasilia) and Amb. Daniel Wambura (Bujumbura)
Nominated for deputy heads of missions are Mr. Hudson Ivutsia (Abuja), Joakim Kiarie Kamere (London), Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Thomas Chepkato (Mogadishu), Dr. Paul Kibiwott (Moscow), Isaac Parashina (Tel Aviv) and Judy Sijine (The Hague).

Earlier in October 15, President Uhuru Kenyatta picked former IEBC Director of Voter Education Immaculate Kassaitto be Kenya’s first Data Commissioner.
Her name was forwarded to the National Assembly on Tuesday October 13, which is supposed to vet her for the position within 21 days.
