Deputy president William Ruto led the signing of the Kenya Kwanza Women charter on Friday June 10 at Nyayo Stadium.
The event saw the second in command promise lots of goodies to women if they will vote for him as president in the August 9 general elections.Â
The promises that Ruto made to Kenyan women include;Â Kshs 50 billion fund that will offer credit to women in business, 50% of his cabinet will be women, implementation of two thirds gender rule and he promised to develop a programme that would see teenage mothers proceed with their education.
Aside from that Ruto promised to issue free sanitary towels to all girls and free diapers to newborn babies up to three months.
Linet Toto Chepkorir, the UDA candidate for Bomet county Women Rep position, was among the many women who graced the event.
The 24-year old got her chance to address the gathering where she expressed gratitude to Ruto for introducing the Hustler nation.
“Our deputy, I want to assure you we are going to pray for you and you are going to become the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya. I want to thank you for introducing the hustler narrative, I think I am the image of the hustler nation,” she said in her speech.
Chepkorir later shared her photograph with DP Ruto at the event captioning it, “When a dream is fulfilled, it is always a glorious feeling. This moment right here will never be forgotten.”

Their posture however sparked lots of reactions with some warning her to detach herself from Ruto. Below are some of the comments drawn from Twitter.
“I hope that Toto was not taken to room 350. I pray that she is safe,” Isaac Kamau said.
Ben Oyor responded to the tweet saying, “Umeanza, uliza Susan and Millicent omanga. Someone who can campaign for four years, be worried about what he can do within one hour.”
“Hapa Arap mashamba just got himself a kienyeji #Room350 loading,” Hassan Abdalla said.
“Toto is delighted, but Ruto might be having different ideas. The guy’s affinities for skirt-wearers and public money go hand in hand!!” read another comment.
