ODM leader Raila Odinga has addressed his meeting with President William Ruto and Yoweri Museveni that was held in Uganda.
Odinga said that the trio discussed about his candidature for the AU chairmanship, and that both heads of state agreed to support him.
After that, Museveni and Ruto discussed about the oil issues between Kenya and Uganda and came to a consensus.
Raila however made it clear that his decision to join the African Union’s top leadership doesn’t mean that he is leaving.
“Let me respond to some issues being raised. I am not going anywhere. I am around. I have been running around trying to get support of different heads of states. I was with some in Namibia just the other day and I went to the president of Uganda after I talked to him about support. “After we talked about we talked about my candidature, they talked about the issue of oil among themselves . I asked for their support and both of them agreed that they would support me. Museveni said that he would be the one to propose me as the chair of the African union Commission and I said thank you very much but I said I am not going away Addis Ababa is only 2hours away from Nairobi, whenever I am called I will answer.
