DP William Ruto has rubbished claims by Interior PS Karanja Kibicho that Azimio La Umoja flag bearer Raila Odinga will win elections by at least 60%.
Speaking during an economic forum in Wote, Makueni county, Ruto accused Kibicho of spreading false information.
Kibicho was reiterating ICT CS Joe Mucheru’s remarks who was firm that Raila will win elections by round one.
“Uhuru Kenyatta and I are the ones who formed the government and we employed the government workers so the employees have become rude until they are spreading false information,” Ruto said.
He further noted that being the second in command, he is able to access the NIS report before the other government officials and after the head of state.
“Someone goes to a TV station saying that Azimio will win with a particular percentage. I am the deputy president of Kenya, I am given the intelligence report after the president is given before these other junior officials,” Ruto noted.
He however termed Kibicho’s remarks as propaganda while saying that it is Kenya Kwanza that is leading and not the other way round.
“I want to tell the people of Kenya to treat with contempt the propaganda being propagated by some of our staff that there is any intelligence report that says our competitors are ahead of us. In fact, our intelligence report that NIS has released is that Kenya Kwanza is ahead by 8 per cent against our competitors,” Ruto said.
He further dared Kibicho to publicize the report if he was serious with whatever he was saying.
“I want to challenge the public officials if they are serious about what they are saying, let them publish the report they are talking about that is coming from NIS,” Ruto said.
Earlier this week in an interview with Citizen TV, Kibicho noted that Raila will win elections in the first round by 60%.
