Laikipia woman representative Cate Waruguru has taken a swipe at the Jubilee vice chair David Murathe over his role in the current state of Jubilee.
According to Cate Waruguru, David Murathe has been blocking elected leaders such as governors and members of parliament from accessing president Uhuru Kenyatta. She made these sentiments on Saturday while speaking in Laikipia county.
Instead, David Murathe has been leading a group of rich people to grab government positions and businesses in the name of mitigating corruption.
As a result, the vibrant Laikipia woman representative questioned why Jubilee party officials would deny other party members access to president Kenyatta, maintaining that Murathe is one of the key beneficiaries of the fallout between the president and his deputy William Ruto.
“What was your sole intention in breaking the Jubilee Party? Was this not an issue that could have been discussed and solved in the State House?” Posed Waruguru as she claimed that the vice chairman has seized the opportunity to siphon cash.
“Any outsider who doesn’t even vote in Kenya will tell you that Murathe was used to dissolve the Jubilee Party by certain people so that they grab top government jobs and businesses.”
She also took a swipe at this group for lying to president Kenyatta that the defunct Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) would have a comeback even after being declared null and void by both the high court and the court of appeal.
“Jubilee Party has been hijacked by few people who are not elected leaders, in fact, they are party officials or political brokers hanging around Jubilee Party,” Waruguru stated
With regards to the presidential candidate, Waruguru made it clear that she will back deputy president William Ruto in his bid to take over the leadership of the country in 2022 after the exit of president Uhuru.
She also hailed handshake with regards to the peace it has brought in the country but castigated some Jubilee party officials led by the likes of Murathe for making the relationship between the president and his deputy worse.
On the question of “in whose hands are we safe”, Waruguru said that Kenya is only safe in the hands of deputy president William Ruto who is part and parcel of the regime.
