Recruitment Agencies that have been ferrying Kenyan women to work in Saudi Arabia have denied claims that Arabs are cruel following massive reports of mistreatment that the women have been facing in the hands of their employers.
Agents are now blaming the women ferried to Saudi for bringing misfortunes upon themselves.
Some of the agents who have lived in the gulf country for more than a decade claim that the country is one of the best in the world because their laws are straight.
According to one of the agents, Kenyans are not used to such laws and that is why they find it difficult to adapt hence the mistreatment claims.
The agent further said that Kenyan women are lured into trouble by fellow Kenyans staying in Saudi Arabia.
“When the girls leave Kenya, they go with smartphones, they then join groups of Kenyans working in Saudi. After meeting through the internet with fellow Kenyans, the girls are ‘stolen’ from the houses where they were working and receiving Kshs36,000 as salaries with promises of earning over Kshs70,000 and it is true you will get the money but you leave your documents in that house,” he said.
Once the girls leave the house where they were working, they meet with Kenyan men and get involved sexually with them.
“They get pregnant. In Saudi, there are no shortcuts with the law. Family planning is prohibited. If you get pregnant it is up to you. You will not deliver or abort in any hospital because you don’t have documents. The last resort is to engage in risky abortions. This is a person who has never been pregnant and when she aborts at 4 months will she survive?” he posed.
“Secondly, a girl might have given birth here in Kenya through CS. In Saudi she is told to push 4months pregnancy, she won’t survive. Thirdly, she might have had normal delivery in Kenya but In Saudi when she pushes the 4 months pregnancy it might be successful but the placenta will remain in her womb. She will die,” he said.
The agent added that they don’t reveal the exact cause of deaths while announcing deaths of Kenyan women in the foreign country through Facebook because it is shameful.
