If there is one thing you have to give to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga is his access to top intelligence in the country.
Many had wondered why Jimi wanjigi was not being given a chance to compete with Raila Odinga in flying the ODM presidential ticket. The businessman had tried using all the means possible to be in ODM even when it was clear that he was unwanted.
Well, Wanjigi has now proven beyond reasonable doubts that he was just Ruto’s mole masquerading in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
On Tuesday, the billionaire attended William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (National Delegates Conference (UDA), something which left many Kenyans wondering since this was a candidate who was eyeing the ODM party to make him their flag bearer.
According to a reliable source, Raila Odinga had learnt a long time ago that Wanjigi was Ruto’s agent in his party and his role was to rock the opposition party from within.
Infact, if ODM made a mistake of making Wanjigi their flagbearer, then the election would have been over the same day since the billionaire would have achieved his goal of making Ruto the president.
The source added that Wanjigi was to step down having been endorsed by ODM and throw his weight behind William Ruto.
“People are blaming the ODM party for dismissing Wanjigi but they don’t know what Wanjigi and Ruto was planning to do with the ticket. I thought Raila was just a dictator but the man is always 100 kilometers ahead politically. He never wanted anything to do with wanjigi in the party over what he termed as “evil plans.” Revealed the source.
The source also made reference to the past Orange Democratic Movement party elections aborted at Kasarani after a group of men dressed in black suits overturned tables, smashed ballot boxes and destroyed election materials, insisting that the polls could not proceed unless they were furnished with party registers.
Soon after the chaos started, CORD leader Raila Odinga, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and other very important politicians were quickly whisked out of the venue.
Attempts by the outgoing Secretary General Anyang Nyong’o to restore order were ignored.
“Let’s have some order here… I appeal that you may be calm. I plead with please; Seat down so that we can talk,” he could be heard saying. “Stop destroying property and behaving like that,” Nyong’o urged.
Mwaura later told journalists he was aggrieved by various malpractices.
“I’m simply saying there was election malpractice. I believe in Raila Odinga; I had a long conversation with him before and I told him to allow the election to be free and fair,” he stated.
He added that his discontent stemmed from the fact that “there was a preferred list, which was my problem… that is not justice.” The insiders however believe that Mr. mwaura was just lying since he knew all these plans of saving the ODM party.
If this election went through, then hon. Ababu Namwamba was to be the secretary general for the ODM. However, Ababu namwamba was just made the secretary general by word of mouth and not through elections which would give him more powers and keep important party documents.
It later emerged that Ababau Namwamba was planning to sell the ODM party to the opponents and frustrate Raila odinga in the next general elections by leaving him partyless. A source even added that Raila made a call to one of the people at the Kasarani and said these Luo words: “Imawa chama touneno” (We are losing our party at Kasarani in broad daylight and you guys are just watching”).
Within a few minutes after the call, men in black had stormed the Kasarani meeting and destroyed all the election materials insisting that the elections could not go on since there were no registers.
Hence, those who don’t understand these facts may think that ODM was a party of violence then but nothing was far from the truth- the men in black saved ODM party from being “stolen” and being auctioned to the opponents by Ababu who later confirmed these fears by dumping Raila Odinga for Uhuruto.
Back to the Wanjigi topic. This explains why the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secretary general Edwin Sifuna was recently involved in a war of words with the security agencies because of Jimi Wanjigi.
Edwin Sifuna was angered by the fact that the police officers manning the gate allowed Jimi Wanjigi to gain entry to the Kasarani stadium where their ODM National Delegates Conference (NDC) was taking place.
Apparently, Jimi Wanjigi had taken cover inside one of the dirty toilets within the stadium to run away from the visibly angry Edwin Sifuna who came out of the meeting accompanied by some supporters.
Sensing the presence of Mr. Sifuna, Jimi wanjigi quickly rushed to the toilet since he was uncertain of the consequences he would face from Mr. Sifuna and his youths.
As a result, there was a melee within Kasarani stadium with Wanjigi’s goons taking on ODM’s security personnel. So serious was the disagreement that Wanjigi had to be ejected from Kasarani stadium, his goons having been overpowered.
On their side, Kenyans had the following sentiments after the Wanjigi Sifuna sharp disagreement:
“Jimmy Wanjigi is Ruto’s agent,he can’t and won’t be anywhere closer to the Azimio event! Call him to go attend Ruto rally with you please…”
“The man Jimmi Wanjigi went to court to file a case against the NDC being held saying it was wrongly constituted. The court threw away him and his case. Why again try to attend a meeting which he openly disputed?..He was chased away like a porcupine with his billions and his Rolex watches..He should go appeal in court… Nonsense Kichwa malenge shughulika na za kwako.”
