Homicide detectives are pitching camp at Kawira Mwangaza’s home in Milimani Estate, Meru town.
Mwangaza’s home has since been cordoned and declared a crime scene, following the brutal murder of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, who is popularly known as Sniper.
The latest development comes just hours after Mwangaza broke silence about Sniper’s death for the first time.

Speaking to a local media house on Friday, the governor said that the law should be allowed to take its course.
“I don’t want to talk much about the death of Sniper, we all want to know what happened. The matter is being investigated,” she said.
Meawhile, her brother, Murangiri Kenneth, has been linked to the matter and is currently being held by DCI detectives for questioning.
Murangiri was arrested on Friday alongside 4 other suspects.
Sniper was discovered dead on December 6, 2023, after disappearing on December 2, 2023.
His body was recovered from a thicket near Mutonga River in Tharaka Nithi county.
A postmortem conducted on his body on December 22 indicated that he had been tortured before he was strangled to death.
According to detectives, Sniper was lured to his death by suspects who had promised to help him make peace with governor Mwangaza, who he had earlier criticized.
In court papers, detectives say that the suspects contacted Sniper on phone. He travelled from his Kabuitu home to meet with the five in Meru town, never to be seen alive again.
“The deceased was lured by the accused over the phone that H.E Kawira Mwangaza, the governor of Meru County, whom he was politically criticizing, wanted to meet him for a truce with a view of working together,” DCI said.
