Deputy President William Ruto is back again at calling out local dailies and news channels for writing stories which he perceives as misinformation.
According to a local newspaper, Daily Nation, there was a storm in Cabinet meeting which was pushing the agenda for Ruto to quit.
President Uhuru Kenyatta chaired the said cabinet meeting with Ruto being present.
It was the first meeting between the duo since the second in command snubbed an invite to the national COVID-19 conference that was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). This was perceived by some analysts as an act of rebellion.
Uhuru is said to have several options in dealing with his defiant deputy. Political commentators and some leaders opined the president can use both the state machinery and party to cut Ruto to size.
The Daily goes ahead that the Cabinet Secretaries were pushing harder for Ruto to end his reign as The Deputy President instead of fighting the government within.
However, this is not the case with Ruto who has come out guns blazing.
Through his twitter handle, Ruto has trashed Daily Nation for spreading misinformation.
” Cabinet Secretaries challenging who?? To do what??? Hii itumiwe kufunga matumbo na mara!!!!, ” he posted on his twitter handle.
Deputy President William Ruto was in the cabinet meeting before postponing a fundraiser in Nyamira.
Ironically, a Cabinet meeting attended by Ruto approved the NSAC’s public order prescriptions and established a multi-agency team to monitor implementation.
