Raila Odinga supporters have claimed that Deputy President William Ruto can not become president just like that.
According to those who spoke to Mutembei TV, there are two things that DP Ruto must first pass through before finally claiming the country’s top leadership position.
“William Ruto, for you to become president in this country, you must undergo these two things: You must lose an election and number two you must be a leader of the opposition,” one of the supporters said.
The ODM leader supporters also bashed DP Ruto’s hustler narrative saying that if he is elected president common Kenyans are bound to suffer.
“Ruto has come with the hustler slogan and people are dancing to it, but there is nothing in that thing. Raila has a good agenda and people have listened to him and that’s why they will vote for him,” he went on.
He further defended the handshake between Raila and president Uhuru Kenyatta saying that it is not responsible for the troubles in the government while noting that the economy started deteriorating in 2013 after former president Mwai Kibaki retired.
“For seven years, you have had that opportunity. You have been lying and there is nothing you have brought and now you are saying you will bring change once you become president. Raila does not have any problem,” the supporter said.
He also wondered why DP Ruto has never mentioned how he will fight corruption in his campaigns saying that he is corrupt.
DP Ruto supporters however defended the second in command saying that the more they bash him, the more they are selling his popularity to the Kenyan citizens.
“My brothers from the other side, we don’t have a problem with you, just assemble yourselves, us from UDA we are waiting for you together with citizens in a corner. Talk as much as you want, you don’t know that you are selling Ruto’s policies whenever you mention him,” the hustler nation member said.
He asked them to stop talking ill of Ruto and his political agenda while noting that every political party has the freedom of selling its agenda.
“Sell your handouts, whoever will pick let them do it. For us we will sell our wheelbarrows and whoever will embrace it let them do it but youths if you want a wheelbarrow, we can not bring it to you, look for a plan, we are here, we can give to you,” he said.
