Uhuru Kenyatta can now impeach William Ruto, says Manyora

Date:

Political Analyst, Herman Manyora has come forward to stress the fact that President Uhuru Kenyatta has everything at his disposal to successfully impeach his Deputy, William Samoei Ruto.

The recent purge in both Senate and the National Assembly has shifted in the favor of the President as observed by Herman Manyora and now the President has all the cards in his hands. It only depends on how he wants to deal them.

“If Uhuru now wants to impeach William Ruto, it will be soo easy since the motion will go through. It has been proved beyond any reasonable doubt that he has the numbers in the Senate and National Assembly.” Manyora said.

With all the numbers that Uhuru Kenyatta has in both the National Assembly and the Senate through the Jubilee Party, he can easily remove William Ruto as his Deputy but Manyora believes it would be the wrong move to make.

“He will simply do it. However, it will be soo damn trying to impeach William Ruto,” Manyora added.

It’s alleged that currently there is already a section of ODM leaders and decision-makers who are keen on filing an impeachment motion against the Deputy President William Ruto with accusations of gross violation of the constitution and so many other things that have seen the President and the people lose faith in him.

Led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, the leaders cited the fake arms deal and the murder of Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei; cases where the DP’s name was adversely mentioned.

For the DP to be successfully removed from his position, the motion would be required to have the support of 117 out of 249 Member of Parliaments at the initial stage and later on be supported by 233 of the 349 MPs if it gets tabled at the National Assembly.

In the Senate, an 11 member committee will be formed to investigate the charges against the DP who will cease being the holder of the office if the claims are substantiated and supported by two thirds; 45 of the 67 senators.

Manyora said the only people who can survive individually away from the handshake are Kimani Ichung’wa, Rigathi Gachagwa, and William Ruto.

“The only people who can survive outside the handshake are William Ruto, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagwa, and Kikuyu’s Kimani Ichung’wa,” said Manyora.
