Kenyans are mourning the death of a wealthy businessman and politician from Uasin Gishu county Mzee Jackson Kibor.
Kibor,89, who has also been holding the title of the chairman of Men’s conference, died while receiving treatment at the St. Luke’s Orthopedic Hospital, Eldoret on Wednesday.
Kibor was hospitalized due to prolonged complications resulting from Covid 19. He contracted covid in October 2020 and since then he has been under oxygen.
“His health worsened early this month when he was diagnosed with kidney failure. He was undergoing dialysis,” said his daughter Loice Kibor.
The deceased came into the limelight in 2017 after divorcing his third wife just 14 months after divorcing the second one.
Kibor divorced his second wife Jepkoech after 52 years of marriage citing desertion, cruelty and denial of conjugal rights. He later divorced the third wife, Naomi on grounds of hostility and cruelty, adding that she denied him conjugal rights, after being married to her for 43 years.
He further decided to do a DNA test on their children to confirm whether they were his because they were giving him a headache.
“Hawa watoto yangu ni wakora…wakora kwa sababu waliuza nyumba yangu Karen, Nairobi, na wakauze ingine Nyali, Mombasa,” said Mzee Kibor.
“Hawa watoto wanasumbua, nitawapeleka DNA nihakikishe kama ni wangu ama si wangu kwa sababu mimi sikuoa mama yao,” he added.
The two wives however put the blame on the fourth wife saying that since Kibor married her he changed completely.
The move to divorce his wife consecutively is what earned him the Men’s conference chairman title. Kibor was a men’s motivational speaker and defender of men’s rights
Kenyans have taken to social media to mourn Kibor citing his exemplary efforts in standing up for the men.
“Chairman doesn’t die, he just takes his chair underground Man lives,in peace. Fare thee well Mzee Jackson Kibor,” Warui John mourned him.
Following his death, a number of Kenyans have suggested that former Kiss FM presenter Andrew Kibe takes over the Chairman role.
“The legend Mzee Jackson Kibor has rested. His deputy Andrew Kibe takes over as interim chair. We wait to confirm him or replace with the feared secretary general Amerix,” Samwel Okumbo said on Twitter.
“Men’s Conference Chairman’ Mzee Jackson Kibor dies in hospital – Andrew Kibe to Take Over As Interim Chairman,” Marissa Pollos claimed.
No reasons have however been given as to why Kibe should take up the position.
