Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli has given Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka a thumbs up saying that he stands a better chance in the coming elections.
Atwoli argued that among the four OKA co-principals, Kalonzo is more calculative when it comes to matters of politics.
“The person who knows how to read the game in OKA is Kalonzo Musyoka. He knows how to read the game very well. If it reaches the right time you will get him at the right place. Those people who will be left in the dark are my tribesmen, Mudavadi, and Wetangula. For the others, things will be different. If they are not careful they will be left alone,” he said.
Speaking in Mombasa on Sunday Atwoli said that he does not support ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi’s presidential bid even though they come from the same place.
According to him, Mudavadi’s economic reforms are bound to hurt many businesses if he assumes leadership.
Atwoli said that the ANC leader will be so focused on building the economy and forget the needs of employees.
“When he takes over this country he will frustrate many business people to see that the economy he keeps talking about grows,
“He will compromise businesses, employment, and other things to squeeze people in order to grow the economy. For those who have studied economics, there will be no circulation of money,” Atwoli claimed.
Citing a legislation that Mudavadi proposed in the 90s that saw a lot of people lose jobs, with Mudavadi as president, people will lose jobs.
“Musalia Mudavadi comes from my place and in 1994 he was the one who brought the redundancy clause to the Finance Bill. He walks slowly like somebody who does not know what he is doing,” he stated.
This comes as Atwoli is set to declare the presidential candidate for the Luhya nation on December 31 at Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega.
“I have already said that on December 31, the Luhya community will emerge at Bukhungu stadium to determine and to listen to Luhya leaders and plan a sense of direction as to who should lead us among the people who have declared their candidacy,” he previously said.
