Journalist Hassan Mugambi, who captivated Kenyans in the near past, is reportedly in the process of leaving Royal Media Services-owned TV station, Citizen.
Mugambi, who is known for investigative and crime reporting, will be leaving the popular media house for a role at the ministry of Defence in the beginning of March.
Mugambi has served his employer a notice of his departure. He will join the Aden Duale-led Ministry as Communication Advisor.
Mugambi joined Citizen TV in 2016 after leaving K24, which is owned by Media Max. He began off as reporter and later rose through the ranks to become Swahili News anchor in programmes such as Sema na Citizen.
Also in the departure line is political reporter Chemutai Goin. Goin is said to be heading to National Assembly Speaker’s office.
The two will now be joining Francis Gachuri who will landed who left the station for Head of Communications at the Ministry of Interior in March 2023.
Gachuri had served in the station for 16 years and was the senior political reporter.
