Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has expressed his disappointment after seeing the reaction of youths who were at the Statehouse on Friday.
The head of state met over 3000 youth leaders from across the county for a discussion on the progress of various Government youth empowerment initiatives and affirmative action programmes.
The youths could not hold back their joy when they saw president Uhuru Kenyatta as they cheered, clapped and even scrambled to shake his hand.
That did not please Sudi who said that he was sad to see youths cheering a person who has done nothing for them for the past 10 years while calling upon them to be serious.
“Yesterday I saw a few youths who were called to The Statehouse and told that their future is somewhere. I want to ask Kenyans youths., somebody has been president for 10 years, he has not helped you now he wants to transfer you to another person and you can even see for yourself the person who he is transferring you to,” the lawmaker said.
Sudi said that instead of cheering, they would have just taken the sitting allowance and left the place, since the money was not even enough to sustain their needs.
“I was shocked that you were clapping and singing. You are not serious you guys. You would have just gone there to take the covid funds and for lots of things that we will tell you in future and get out of there slowly, knowing that the 8K or 10k that you have been given cannot even cater for your children’s diapers,” he said.
According to him, the youths should not have cheered President Kenyatta because he has taken 55% of Kenya and he now wants to transfer them to someone who will also not help them.
“Somebody has taken 55% of Kenya and you are going there to cheer him. Please if you could not help youths during your time, you want to tell me that if you transfer them to another person they will be helped. This country has a lot of drama,” Sudi further said.
