The battle between Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile and Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko has gone to another after Ndile threatened to take Sonko to court over alleged Sh6.5 million debts.
This comes a few days after Ndile leaked to the public a recorded phone conversation between him and the Nairobi Governor, in which the Governor hurled insults at him after he reminded Sonko to settle his debts.
In the audio, Ndile did not mention the amount the governor owed him but reports indicate the amount is more than Sh6.5 million.
However, in the audio, the Governor denied owing Ndile any money. The Governor instead told Ndile to report the matter to the authorities, adding that he would blacklist him from undertaking any business with the Nairobi county government.
“Bill ya akina nani? Hiyo repoti police station. Mimi sina deni yako, kwenda kabisa. Sitarudi kwako… (Whose debt? You can report to the police. I owe you nothing, go away. I’ll never come back to your place…),” Sonko said.
The Governor is yet to respond to the incident. An attempt to reach became unfruitful.
But the former MP insisted that the debts included construction and hotel services, furniture supply among other services he offered the Governor.
“He must have respect for his elders. I’m not the kind of person he keeps insulting. Let’s meet in court, I will sue him for defamation and threats, alongside other charges,” Ndile told the Star.
“I supplied him with four movable chairs, three worth Sh100,000 each, and another Sh200,000. He owes me Sh500,000 for the chairs. There is one of my excavators excavating a dam in his Mua home in Machakos county, he hasn’t paid.”
Speaking to the local daily, Ndile said he was demanding payments for more than 200 hours of excavation work.

“For the insults, we have seen many things. Saying he will bury me the way he buried my mother is disrespectful to me. I’m not his CEC, he found us in leadership.”
According to Ndile, Governor is a novice in politics and should go slow.
As a result of the insults thrown at him, Kalembe Ndile said he had to end his friendship with Sonko.
Ndile added that the governor threatened and he had reported the matter to Machakos police station on July 9 under OB 77/9/7/2020 and the police have since referred the matter to the DCI headquarters.
