Kenyans are making fun of Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya after he was captured carrying flowers while in the US.
Oparanya is among other leaders who accompanied ODM leader Raila Odinga to his trip in the United States last week.
The governor posed for a photo alongside Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina among other gentlemen with one of them also holding flowers.
Netizens assumed that Oparanya was holding flowers for Raila while reminiscing how he bashed ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi for accompanying DP William Ruto to US to carry his files in late February.
“Oparanya said MaDVD was carrying files for Ruto in London BUT the same Oparanya was spotted in the USA carrying Flowers for Raila as if he wants to propose to Raila,” Kiptanui Oliver laughed off.
“The whole Oparanya has been reduced to a mere flower girl in Azimio. Raila Odinga is always DISRESPECTFUL to Mulembe Nation,” Davis Ruto said.
Early last month, during Azimio la umoja campaigns in Bungoma, Oparanya criticized Mudavadi saying that he was shaming the Luhya nation by carrying files for Ruto.
“The ripening of Bungoma is what has caused William Ruto to feel uneasy until he has gone to loiter abroad. He has gone to cry there because the pressure is too much. He is complaining that the votes will be rigged. He went with our son Musalia Mudavadi now he is the one carrying files for him. What a shame to the Luhyia community,” he said.
Meanwhile, Oparanya’s deputy Philip Kutima ditched DAP-K for UDA on Wednesday. Kutima was initially in ODM but decamped after his fallout with Oparanya. He said that his boss was favoring other candidates over him.
The row between Kutima and Oparanya was evident recently when the governor bypassed his deputy and left the county in the hands of a county executive.
The second-time governor left Rachel Okumu in charge of managing the county as he left for the US trip.
