President William Ruto’s administration on Thursday November 16 suspended six Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) on graft allegations.
Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei directed the suspension of six chief executive officers for alleged involvement in corruption and procurement irregularities within their respective institutions.
“In issuing the directives, the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service emphasises that the Government remains firm in its commitment to eradicating corruption which, he maintains, undermines its development agenda,” the statement read in part.
Eng Fredrick Mwamati, CEO Tanathi Water Works Development Agency was among those listed by the government over procurement irregularities.
Stephen Ogenga, National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Director General was suspended for procurement irregularities.
National Museums Acting Director General Stanvas Ong’alo was also suspended over Ksh490 million alleged fraudulent payment.
Benjamin Kai Chilumo was suspended as CEO of Huduma Center Secretariat over alleged graft involvement during his tenure as Kilifi County Chief Financial Officer.
He also directed for the suspension of 67 police officers over corruption.Â
The suspension paves the way for further investigation.
Koskei directed the respective Cabinet Secretaries to implement the suspension orders in their respective ministries.
