President William Ruto’s administration on Sunday November 12 unveiled a mobile application to monitor tree planting exercise.
In a statement released by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, the new application is known as Jazamiti App.
Hussein stayed that the App is essential for helping President Ruto keep track of trees planted in order to hit his 15 billion target by 2032.
The special App allows both individuals and organizations to register.
Users will be required to detail the number of trees planted, the date, species and location.

Cabinet Secretaries and other government heads are expected to lead the exercise in the country.
To enable seamless planting, the Ministry of Interior and National Coordination declared it a National Tree Growing Day, making it a public holiday.
Chiefs will be used to distribute the trees during the exercise.

“The Government, through the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, is keen on monitoring the participation of the public during the National Tree Growing Day.
Individuals and organizations are therefore encouraged to register their activities on the Jazamiti App.
The Jazamiti App, available on both Playstore and Appstore, allows the user to register their personal details in creating an account before updating their activities.
The App captures the location, species, number of trees planted, and planting date. This data is crucial in evaluating the progress made towards the Presidential campaign of planting 15 billion trees by 2032.
