The Jubilee party has rejected Anne Ngirita moments after she dumped William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
While dismissing her, Jubilee made it clear to Anne Ngirita that she must first present a clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC), The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Sources reveal that Jubilee party is keen on maintaining a good image and its why they want nothing to do with the likes of Anne Ngirita who was actively involved in the NYS scandal II scam. She was the main suspect!
Ngitia was also charged with four counts of failing to pay tax amounting to 20 million Kenya shillings between December 2016 to December 2017.
“I hereby issue warrant of arrest against the accused and summons to the investigating officer and the accused surety to appear in court.” Rule Nairobi senior principal magistrate Benard ochoi.
The court had also ruled that ill gotten properties under the Ngirita name had to be recovered since those were proceeds of crime.
“What is expected of the Agency and other state agencies charged with investigation and corruption offences as well as with recovery of ill-gotten wealth is that they will pursue the other beneficiaries with the same vigour and subject them to similar proceedings to recover the public funds lost in nefarious schemes such as were perpetrated at the NYS,” ruled judge Mumbi Ngugi.
Mumbi ruled that the Sh400 million deposited into the Ngirita’s accounts by the NYS was done fraudulently and that the properties the family bought in the period they obtained the funds from NSY are proceeds of crime.
Anne Ngirita who is eyeing the Nakuru woman rep position said that the reason she left UDA was because she never intended to join it in the first place and that it was merely as a result of peer pressure.
“Nilikuwa kwa chama cha UDA lakini nilitoka mimi mwenyewe. Nilitoka kwa sababu baba aliongea kwa TV akasema nyinyi wenyewe mrudi nyumbani enyewe nikaona nilikuwa nimepota kwa sababu ilikuwa out of peer pressure si ati ni chama nilitaka.
As a result, Ngirita declared her full support behind president Uhuru Kenyatta and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.
Asked why she decided to go for the political seat, the former NYS II stated that her main objective was to help solve problems bedeviling youths and women.
“Mimi nataka kusaidia youth na kina mama. Mimi najua zile shida youth wanapitia,” she added.
