KANU party leader Gideon Moi has finally surfaced after a long silence following his defeat in the August 9 general elections.
Gideon lost his Baringo senatorial seat to UDA’s William Cheptumo. Cheptumo garnered 141,777 votes while he got 71,480 votes. Since then, the former senator has kept a low profile and had not made any public statement.
On Wednesday morning, Gideon shared photos of him with a number of KANU MPs who had paid him a visit at his private residence following an accident that he suffered during campaigns.
“It’s refreshing to meet a section of KANU MPs this morning who came over to check on my recovery progress. We will continue to work together for the benefit of our people,” he said.
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka had earlier revealed that Gideon suffered an accident in Suswa and was forced to undergo surgery.
“This afternoon Senator @GideonMoipaid me a courtesy call at my Nairobi residence. I’m glad to see that he is recuperating well after a fall during a campaign rally in Suswa that required surgery. My family and I wish him well and a quick recovery,” Kalonzo said in a statement on Tuesday.
A number of netizens have wished him a quick recovery but some smelled a rat in Musyoka’s statement saying that on voting day he seemed okay while proving that with a photo..
“We are told that you were injured during campaign trail but on the voting day you seem to be okay..or you went back to campaigns after voting sir?.Quick recovery though,” a netizen said.
“What are you recovering from mkubwa?? I hope you were not affected by the election results,” another said.
“Ama ulipigana na Baba?” Another netizen wondered. This is because photos of Raila Odinga with a swollen face emerged online after he was paid a courtesy call by Uhuru Kenyatta and his son on Tuesday night.
In some of the photos, Raila was seen wearing a face mask to conceal his injuries. Sources claim that Raila suffered the injuries when he fell while disembarking from a car.\
