Kiambu based politician Gladys Chania who is at the center of accusation of the murder of her husband George Mwangi may just walk free at the end.
With the disappearance of the farmhand, it is now evident that the whole thing was planned and that the missing man might be having so much information since he had worked at the couple’s home for the longest time possible.
According to the Standard Newspaper, there are scanty details about the man identified in police documents as John Mwangi. Strangely, no one has gone to the police station to file a missing person report.
“So far nobody has made any report about the alleged missing person. The matter has been taken over by the detectives from the DCI headquarters. I am therefore not in a position to comment further.” Stated the Gatundu North sub county commander Hellen Wanjiku.
There are those who believe that the farmhand would have revealed so much information and that the killers knew that they had to first capture him prior to the mysterious murder of his boo George Mwangi. However, with his disappearance, the case might just die.
According to speculations, the farmhand disappeared two days before the businessman’s body was found in Kieni forest. Consequently, the detectives are of the view that the worker is a person of interest to serve as either a witness or a suspect.
“Detectives believe John was either a victim or an accomplish in the murder. John had worked for George Mwangi for more than five years and he was supposed to hand over to a new farmhand by the name Maurice Mbugua on the Saturday night he disappeared. The new worker had been recruited by the late’s wife Gladys Chania.
“We have been friends with him for long. The last time I saw him was Friday when he was sent by Gladys Chania to deposit money at a mobile money shop. The moment he went to the shop, he never came back.” Revealed the friend who did not wish his name to be shared.
