DP Rigathi Gachagua has advised athletes and Kenyans in general to be very careful so that they don’t fall victims of scammers.
The DP is among the dignitaries who graced the Chepsaita cross country run in Uasin Gishu County this Saturday.
Speaking to the media during the event, the second in command was questioned on whether the government has put any strategies in eliminating conmen and money launderers because many of renown athletes in the region were grappling with poverty after falling victims the scammers.
“We can’t create laws to curb with wash wash and conmen. It’s just upon people to be careful and know that anything that comes easily is not legitimate, something that is too good to be true. We want to ask our people to be careful with conmen and other people who take advantage of them,” he said.
He urged Kenyans to work hard, noting that it is the only way to becoming successful.
“There is nothing easy you can get through hard work, everything good would come through hard work so when people come to cheat you that they can double your money why can’t they triple theirs to start with.
“We are just calling upon our athletes and indeed our Kenyan people to be careful and live honestly, descent and invest in ways that are that are straight and honest don’t try to look for shortcuts you will not get anywhere,” Gachagua said.
