DP Rigathi Gachagua has said that he supports his Boss president William Ruto on his recent cabinet nominations that included ODM members

Speaking on Sunday in Nyandarua county, Gachagua said he has no objection to Ruto’s choice adding that his responsibility is to support and respect him.

“I have no objection with the new nominees and formation of broad-based Government by the President. Let the new nominees come we work together for the people of Kenya. As the Deputy President and Principal Assistant to the President, my work is to support him, respect and be loyal to him. I support his decisions,” he said.

The second in command went on to urge Kenyans to hold elected leaders accountable.

“Voters and Kenyans, in general, should start questioning their leaders to enhance accountability in governance and make the leaders accountable for the decisions they make on public issues. The political leaders that are being used to pull others down and drive a wedge in the Mt Kenya community should be cautious because their mission will fail,” Gachagua warned in the wake of a broad-based government,” he said.

On the issue of calling for Mt. Kenya unity, Gachagua said it is because he loves them. He however noted that he doesn’t have issues with other Kenyans.

“I have a weakness of loving my people from Mt Kenya’s backyard. You may have to forgive me. It does not mean I have a problem with the other Kenyans. The rest of Kenya are also our friends and we talk the same language and we understand each other,” he explained.

“Let us love each other, support each other, stay close to each other and care for each other,” Gachagua urged, reinforcing his message of unity and cooperation among all Kenyans.”
