Milimani Law Courts Chief Magistrate Hon. Lucas Onyina has denied fugitive Kevin Adam Kangethe’s plea for bail/bond, citing compelling reasons presented by the prosecution through Vincent Monda and Magdalene Nduati.
Emphasizing Kangethe’s flight risk, the magistrate referenced his escape from the United States after allegedly killing his girlfriend.
With Kangethe’s history of fleeing lawful custody and the seriousness of the charges he is facing, the magistrate deemed it necessary for him to remain in custody pending hearing.
Furthermore, he ruled the items recovered from him would stay with the prosecution as evidence.
He also rejected Kangethe’s request to be remanded at a medium security facility and directed that he be remanded at a maximum security facility highlighting the potential risk of escape.
Hearing of the matter is scheduled for April 29, 2024.
Kangethe is wanted in the US in connection to his girlfriend whose body was found at an airport.
