Roads and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen is known for donning expensive outfits.
In an interview with Oga Obinna on Monday night, the CS laid bare his most expensive shoes, watch, tie and even belt.
“The most expensive shoe I have is around Kshs80,000. The belt is probably Kshs50,000,” he revealed, leaving the interviewer shocked.
To justify this, Murkomen explained why he would spend such an amount of money on a single belt.
“I don’t have to wear two belts in two years. One belt is just enough. You can just buy one belt worth 50,000 which can be flipped and it is quality. One side is black, the other is brown, so when you turn the other side, people think it is another belt,” he said
He went on to state that, ” The most expensive watch I have that I bought with my own money is Kshs900, 000, you wear it for 20 years.”
“There are two watches that have gone viral on social media. The first one I bought, it was not as expensive as they said and the second one a friend of mine, came to me, because he saw the other on social, and said ” I sell watches, do you want me to sell you Rolex?’ and I said yes, why not. He sold it to me at a third (30 per cent) of the price being claimed on social media. He even gave me time to pay in installments,” the CS added
He also revealed that his most expensive tie is worth Ksh20,000.
“In life, there are things that are vanity that you find yourself ending up buying,” he further said.
At the same time, he shared one thing that people don’t know about him.
“I have become a book. I have been on TV for 17 years so people know me. So much.What I would repeat and my children laugh at me is that I don’t know how to ride a bicycle. Because where would I get a bicycle in Embobut? And even if I was given a bicycle in Embobut(an administrative ward in Elgeyo Marakwet) you will carry it more than it carries you because the whole place was hilly, no roads,” Murkomen said.
