It has now emerged that the detonators wielding goons who destroyed activist Boniface Mwangi’s house were armed to the teeth.
According to a statement by one Isaac Ouma reported at the Thika Police Station on Thursday,the attackers ambushed the site workers, robbed them off personal items, and used detonators to bomb the building that was still under construction, causing three holes.Â
Although the suspects have not been identified by the police, they came to the site in a white pickup which had a strange registration number.
“The cops visited the scene located at Kinanie location in Machakos County and have commenced investigations. Members of the public with any information relating to the incident have been asked by the police to contact them to assist in the investigation.” The National Police Service said.
As a result, some unused IED cables were retrieved at the scene with gunshots on the walls but no injury was recorded.
The impact on Boniface Mwangi’s house was so huge that it left the foundation of the building destroyed to the maximum.
Boniface Mwangi on Thursday shocked netizens after he accused Machakos governor Alfred Mutua for destroying his house. Below is the statement that the activist issued:
While breaking the news of his house being bombed, this is what Boniface Mwangi wrote:
“I’m a resident of Lukenya, Machakos County. About two hours ago, Governor Alfred Mutua thugs bombed my house (under construction), sank the house foundation and robbed my workers.
I can’t go there now for safety reasons. I know it’s Mutua because he is a molester. and an abusive man. I’m not a criminal. I don’t do deals. I have never comprised my values. He has used state resources to blow up the house my family was building. The bullets, the explosives they used are on the scene.
So what kind of a country are we living in? Mutua realised hashtags can’t scare me and they’re now using explosives. I still don’t fear because the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want, He shall protect me. Mutua won’t silence me like his victims!
To the government, the bullets and the explosives remnants are in my compound. All l ask is an open and transparent investigation. If speaking truth will get me killed, I’m ready to die. I’m hurting, but my spirit isn’t broken. Even this will pass.
