Fresh details have emerged about when IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati will be announcing theĀ fifth President of Kenya.
Chebukati was to make the announcement that Kenyans are waiting anxiously at 3pm but that was delayed, because Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga had not arrived at the Bomas of Kenya by then.
So far Kenya Kwanza’s flag bearer William Ruto, Roots party candidate George Wajackoya and his Agano counterpart are already at the venue.
Ruto’s mother has also made entry into the venue and she is also waiting to hear whether her son will also emerge victorious.
Reports indicate that the presidential declaration had been pushed to 4pm but according to theĀ Press Secretary of Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Secretariat Dennis Onsarigo, Kenyans might have to wait until 6pm for the announcement.
“It will move on to even 6pm,” Onsarigo said in response to a tweet by The Standard.

Other sources indicate that the announcement will be made at 5pm. The whereabouts of Raila or whyĀ he is not at Bomas is yet to be known.
From the delay, Kenyans have expressed fear that there might be a rerun because it looks like none of the presidential candidates achieved the 50+1%.
