Former Kamiti detainee Joseph Mbugua has revealed that homosexuality is thriving in the country’s most dreaded jail with the blessings of prison warders.
Mbugua opened up about life in Kamiti while speaking to Gikuyu vernacular YouTuber Wambui Wa Mwangi.
He served time in the notorious Kamiti maximum security prison after court convicted him for robbery with violence.
Mbugua admits that Kamiti prison is not a good place to be and that no one and that he would not wish to see anybody incarcerated there.
He said homosexuality thrives in Kamati narrating how men marry fellow men in well elaborate gay weddings.
Mbugua revealed that the gay wedding ceremonies in Kamiti are conducted with the consent of the officer in charge of the facility.
He noted that the officer in charge is notified in advance before the gay weddings take place. He says the ceremony is so meticulous that even bulls are slaughtered.
Mbugua reveals that the gay prisoners are powerful and well connected within and outside Kamiti perimeter walls.
He says their brides are accorded special treatment and warders can’t dare touch them unless they want to get an immediate transfer from Kamiti.
The former convict disclosed that the homosexual cartel in Kamiti prison has money because they run projects outside the prison.
“If you are cigarette, bhang or drug addict, you cannot help but be another rich prisoner’s wife in order to access them. The wives of the prisoners are treated in a special way, like queens and they never lack anything,” Joseph Mbugua said.
