For Musalia Mudavadi, ODM leader Raila Odinga working with Uhuru for the sake of peace amounted to political betrayal while him joining deputy president William Ruto was the best thing to have ever happened in the 21st century.
In fact, the ANC leader shamelessly referred to his latest political decision as a historical moment that will take Kenya to the greatest level never seen since independence.
Mr. Musalia Mudavadi has been preaching to Kenyans that Raila Odinga betrayed NASA by agreeing to work with President Kenyatta, but forgets so fast like a warthog that moving to Ruto’s side was/is equally a betrayal of his One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals.
As a result, one wonders why Mudavadi thinks that him working with Ruto was more appropriate and ideologically informed while the likes of Raila working with president Uhuru amounts to “oppression of wananchi and betrayal.”
If you listened to Mr. Mudavadi talk that day, one may be forgiven to think that deputy president William Samoei Ruto was nobody in the current regime (which has served for the last 9 years).
Musalia was talking like he just joined a stranger in the government who was not to be blamed for all the challenges he was raising. Instead of asking the deputy president why the economy of the country was doing bad, Mudavadi was asking we citizens to give him an answer. If that is not mocking us Kenyans to please his new boss then i don’t know what mocking is!
The man from Mululu who had at some point appeared presidential and a possible alternative voice for some of us just showed his true colors by joining the same oppressors who have been running the country since 2013.
Being a greedy move informed by the stomach, the Amani national Congress leader is now a laughing stock with no politician willing to associate with him. Unlike Raila who went to handshake and retained most of his ODM allies, Musalia has been left more broken than he was a few days ago.
To buttress my point, the man has been dumped by his own deputy party leader Mr. Ayub Savula who is the Lugari member of parliament under the ANC ticket. Secondly, Mudavadi has been dumped by Matungu MP Oscar Nabulindo who is equally an ANC legislator.
Thirdly, Khwisero member of parliament Christopher Aseka also ditched Musalia Mudavadi after his so-called Sunday earthquake. His other allies such as former speaker Kenneth Marende have also distanced themselves from Mudavadi as if though he is a political Ebola. The list is long, including all the western governors who want nothing to do with him completely after his latest move.
According to these leaders, Musalia Mudavadi was led by his own stomach and that he never involved them in making such a personal decision.
As if that is not enough, Musalia was the victim of his own earthquake on Sunday after his former One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals walked out of his convention citing conmanship, deceit and dishonesty.
From their reaction, these OKA principals were so mad at Mudavadi for betraying them live that they had to walk out and dump him at Bomas of Kenya. Put in another way, Musalia has not only been dumped by leaders from his own ANC/Luhya backyard but also by National figures like Steven kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi and billionaire Jimi wanjigi.
A poll conducted by one research firm called Opinion Track Limited reveals that Musalia’s rating in Western has significantly dropped from 35% to 20% just days after he joined deputy president William Ruto.
On his side, Defense cabinet secretary Hon Eugine Wamalway described Mudavadi as a man who always remains behind (anasalia) because all the decisions he makes are usually just about him and his stomach as opposed to that of the Mulembe Nation.
To further put the last nail on Musalia’s political coffin, President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday held a meeting with a cross-section of Western Kenya leaders who paid him a courtesy visit at State House, Nairobi.
The Head of State assured the leaders, drawn from the five Western Kenya Counties of Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, Trans-Nzoia and Vihiga, of the Government’s commitment to ensure all ongoing development projects in the populous region are completed as scheduled.
Below is what Mr. wamalwa said about the ANC party leader:
