Bahati’s political career is in a limbo after his Jubilee party asked him not to proceed with campaigns for the Mathare Parliamentary seat.
This is after the Azimio la Umoja-OKA team settled on the incumbent Anthony Olouch, who is seeking to defend his seat on an ODM ticket, as the coalition’s preferred candidate.
According to the Nairobi County Jubilee chairman Gitonga Ndegwa, both Jubilee, ODM and Wiper had reached a conclusion to support Oluoch and not Bahati.
“Today is a happy day because we have united our delegates from Jubilee, ODM and Wiper and we had one message on endorsing our candidate in Mathare who is Anthony Oluoch. We had both ODM and Jubilee MPs and we have concluded that we have no other candidate in Mathare for Azimio but only Anthony Oluoch, we have explained to Bahati and he knows that from now he should stop his campaigns,” Ndegwa noted.
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, who had earlier on shared the information about Bahati’s fate, gladly received the information while involving Diana in the ‘drama’.
“Ahsante sana wana @JubileePartyKNairobi for resolving the Mathare question for us. We now have a candidate Hio kijana ya kulia lia nitachukua apology yake kwa Diana personally,” Sifuna said accompanied by Ndegwa’s message.
This irked Bahati who responded demanding him to keep his wife’s name out of his mouth.
“F*CK YOU MR SIFUNA. KEEP YOUR MOUTH AWAY FROM MENTIONING MY WIFE IN YOUR CHEAP POLITICS!!! HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR WOMEN,” angry Bahati boldly responded.

On Monday afternoon, the musician insisted that he was not going to back out of the Mathare race despite the zoning while telling Sifuna that he is not interested in the job that he was offering him to shelve his political ambitions.
“Who told Sifuna I wanted a job? As far as I’m concerned, I had a job, Sifuna is the only person who didn’t have a job,” Bahati said in a press conference on Monday.
