Finance Bill protests set in Nairobi, other parts

Date:

Nairobi Central District (CBD) is expected to be rocked by a fresh wave of anti-Finance Bill protests on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

A closer look by SonkoNews on the situation on the ground established that there is already heavy police presence in various parts of the city.

Others are patrolling various streets using horses in a bid to dispel protests.

The protesters, mostly the young generation have vowed to march in various parts of the country to oppose the Finance Bill 2024.

They indicated they would continue with the protests on Thursday in various towns even as police termed the marches illegal.

Activist Boniface Mwangi who is one of the organisers said Wednesday they were ready for the peaceful march and that they had met all the requirements.

Despite arrests, the young people have vowed to storm CBD and air their concerns.

Most of the protesters want the Finance Bill dropped in totality.
