Former Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi has left netizens talking after revealing that he has graduated with a degree in Happiness.
Kiraitu took to social media to announce that he was awarded a certificate after completing the degree course that took a year.
He studied the course at Happiness Academy and this means that he is now a professional happiness trainer.
“I am happy to announce that I successfully completed a one year degree course in happiness studies from the Happiness Studies Academy and graduated. I am now fully equipped to spearhead the happiness revolution in my motherland,” the excited politician shared on Facebook.
Kiraitu’s announcement has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans. Some have admitted that their never knew happiness was a course. Others have congratulated him for the milestone as others laughed it off.
“Great idea kiongozi. When will you train the rest of us: knowledge transfer(south-south cooperation,” a Facebook user commented.
Patrick Mutua on the other hand said, ” Congratulations HE, you are always a pace setter and an icon for new innovations, kindly start Happiness university/Academy where others can learn and graduate. Meru is not happy at the moment.”
“Congratulations HE KM. Your things are always unique and different,” Gichunge said.
“Money is good. You can choose to have anything including happiness. Kiraitu Murungi graduates with a degree in happiness studies at the Happiness Studies Academy,” another social media user said.
Kiraitu served as Meru governor from 2017 to 2022 after defeating the then incumbent Peter Munya. He was elected on a Jubilee party ticket. In 2022 elections, Kawira Mwangaza, who vied on an independent ticket, however unseated him.
Before being elected as governor, he served as senator and also previously as South Imenti MP since 1992.
Aside from politics he is also a lawyer by profession.
