Comedian Eric Omondi has taken his Play 75% KE music protests a notch higher to ensure that the bill is passed by members of parliament.
Eric had prepared Kenyans for a big surprise on February 9 and seemingly he has managed to pull that off.
The comedian calmly showed up in parliament locked up in a big transparent box-like structure branded ‘Play 75% Kenyan’. He said that he is going to stay there as long as he can even if he dies of hunger until the bill is passed.
“I have just checked into PARLIAMENT buildings and I will stay here as long as it takes to pass the PLAY 75% KENYAN. I am officially declaring a HUNGER STRIKE, if I have to stay here for two MONTHS SO BE IT. If I die here of HUNGER so be it!!!!” Eric shared on his Instagram account.

Curious MPs had to stop by to establish what was transpiring outside the parliament buildings and most of them supported Eric’s bill and promised to make it pass.
Eric further said that those MPs who will visit him at the stand will be advantaged as he will campaign for them in the coming elections.
“Kenyans tell your MPS they have until 4pm to visit this stand those who will not WILL BE VOTED OUT!!! MARK MY WORDS!!! I WILL ENSURE EVERY MP THAT DOES NOT VISIT ME AND COMMIT WILL BE CAMPAIGNED AGAINST,” he warned.
Eric began his play Ke music campaigns last year after he claimed that the music industry is dead and needed to be revived. He also claimed that foreign artists were being treated well in the country but the local ones were looked down upon and given little pay after curtain raising for the guests.
After his protests in parliament in November last year turned chaotic, he drafted the bill, which he handed Jaguar and Babu Owino to present in parliament.
