Kawira Nwangaza, the governor of Meru county, has shown her will to continue serving the people of Meru county, amid a heated battle on her removal from office.
On Thursday, Mwangaza resumed her duties as she awaits for the fate of her removal, which lies in the hands of the High Court.
The embattled governor took to social media to share a photo of herself in her office. In the caption, she expressed determination of serving her county for 10 years.
“Kabati kabati kaende kaende. #Mbeuyangai #kumibilasbreak so help me God,” Mwangaza stated.
She went ahead to share the progress of an ongoing road construction project.
“Final processing of Kwa Mungania(Kambakia) to Willy’s Academy Road Municipality in Imenti North subcounty,” she said.
Earlier, she shared an encouraging post about faith.
“Your faith iswhat it takes to scatter whatever the enemynorganizez against you. Good morning and more grace and faith,” she said
On Tuesday night, the Senate upheld her impeachment by the Meru county Assembly.
Mwangaza however found a short relief after the High court halted her removal on Wednesday morning, terming the issues she had raised through her lawyer as weighty.
“I am satisfied that the application raises constitutional, legal and factual issues that meet the threshold that warrants immediate intervention by this court by way of issuing ex parte interim orders,” Justice Bahati Mwamuye said.
In her petition, Mwangaza lamented that, “the Senate allowed the reintroduction of the same charges as those that the Senate had found to have been unconfirmed in the previous motion of 2023 without interrogating the evidence.”
