Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna revealed that President William Ruto did not honour him with a state award during Jamhuri Day Celebration on Tuesday December 12.
In a statement, Sifuna noted that his name was omitted because of their differing political ideologies.
He however noted that he was contended despite failing to be recognized.
Sifuna congratulated those who were recognized and conferred with state commendations.
“I respect ruto’s decision denying me the national honors I had been nominated for. I always suspected the disdain was mutual. I thank Parliament for the nomination though. And to all those who made it to the list, ” Sifuna wrote.
Athlete Faith Kipyegon was among those who were honoured by Ruto.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti also received state awards.
Several Cabinet Secretaries were also honoured by Ruto during Jamhuri Day Celebrations.
