On Tuesday, after assenting the IEBC amendment Bill it law, President William Ruto announced that there will be a 6- day multi-sectoral dialogue.
The dialogue, that will kick of from July 15, will draw participants from political field, religious organizations, youths among others sectors.
Raila echoed this call, which has landed him in trouble with a section of Kenyans, who questioned who appointed him to speak on their behalf.
Also, an unverified letter, purportedly from Gen Zs and Millennials, was written to the African Union Commission, citing Raila’s unfitness for the chair of the commission.
ODM secretary general and Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna has however come out yo defend Raila.
Speaking at Standard media group, Sifuna told of those trolling Raila, saying he did not speak on their behalf but for those who he represents.
“Baba has not said that he is going to talk on behalf of Gen Zs. Gen Zs have claimed they are leaderless, he is not their leader. But there are people he is leading. Not everyone is leaderless, not everyone is party less. I have a party and am the secretary general so we also have a stake in the country.
“We can’t just be quiet as leaders when things are happening in the country. They did their space with the president. Why is it that there is problem when Raila goes to speak to the presiden. Raila os leading people,”Sifuna said.
