Garissa Town MP Aden Duale has finally come out to explain why he suddenly became a stammerer when President Uhuru Kenyatta walked passed him in Parliament.
Duale was among politicians allied to deputy president William Ruto who criticized President Uhuru’s speech after state of the nation address in parliament on Tuesday November 30th.
The former National Assembly Majority Leader criticized Uhuru’s speech during an interview with NTV after the event.
However, Duale appeared to stammer, repeated himself and lose his train of thought when he realized President Uhuru whom he was criticizing was walking just behind him.
“What the president did today was just abuse the Legislature. The president went further and attacked the Judiciary, and particularly judges who participated in the BBI judgement, some of them…some of them who were at the gallery…some of them who were at them….” Duale fumbled with words while talking to NTV’s Kennedy Muriithi.
In an interview with Ken Mijungu on KTN on Wednesday December 1st, Duale claimed that he froze because the camera turned to Uhuru instead of him.
The Garissa Town MP claimed that he didn’t stop talking because he feared the president could overheard him criticizing his speech.
“I was facing the camera and all over sudden the camera moved away from me, it moved away to the other side. So then I have to look back what’s happening. Then I realize the president was passing,” said Duale.
The Garissa Town MP further added that he doesn’t fear the president and that he could repeat his criticism of Uhuru’s speech in parliament during the interview on KTN with Mijungu.
