DPP Noordin Haji has ordered the arrested of Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthoni Njuki and other county officials over an alleged Sh34.9 million irregularities.
The DPP said the order was for the supply, installation, and commissioning of solid waste incinerators.
According to Haji, seven companies many of which were associated with the governor were placed in bids for the tender.
Westomaxx, the company which submitted fake documents, won the tender.
In a statement on Friday, Haji said he project was procured without environmental impact assessment done on it.

The stated that the incinerator was imported at Sh3.8 million and an audit trail of money paid to Westomaxx showed it was wired to Japhet Gitonga, Kenneth Mucuiya, Caroline Wambui, and Kenstar Electrical and Hardware Ltd.
The order of prosecution comes barely a week after Haji ordered the prosecution of Migori governor Okoth Obado and his four children over alleged theft of the county government’s funds.
