DP William Ruto is excited after Machakos governor Alfred Mutua dumped Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya for Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Mutua announced his separation with Azimio citing lack of transparency, fairness and inclusivity, the major issue being the agreement document that was signed by parties under the coalition.
“The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition has a segment where all joining parties signed. We were promised that once it was ready to be taken to the registrar we will have a copy. We have up to today, a month later not received a copy of the document. We suspect mischief, dishonesty and an attempt to fix us and others,” Mutua said in a statement.
He further noted that his Maendeleo Chap Chap party had written five letters to Azimio about the issue but none of them has been answered.
With this kind of treatment, Mutua saw it better to join DP Ruto’s camp saying that he is the best leader to free Kenyans from the yoke of poverty.
“Therefore, we are convinced and I am convinced that the best team to transform Kenya is Kenya Kwanza and the best leader to free us from this yoke of poverty is Dr. William Ruto,” the governor said.
After his statement, DP Ruto welcomed the new team on board saying Kenyans will not be blackmailed.
“The people of Kenya have rejected blackmail, deceit and conmanship in our politics. Those who’ve taken our country hostage using patronage, force and impunity watajua hawajui na Wakenya hawapangwingwi.Karibu Gov Alfred Mutua & MCC party to Kenyan Kwanza family, the Hustler Nation,” he said in a tweet.
Aside from Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap, DP Ruto has also ripped big after Kilifi governor’s party, Pamoja African Party also ditched Azimio for Kenya Kwanza.
More parties are expected to ditch Azimio according to Mutua.
