Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza brigade on Sunday took their campaigns to Uasin Gishu county.
Among the places that they visited was Langas where DP Ruto mentioned some of the multi-billion development projects that the government has allegedly done for locals while drumming support for the Alliance.
“You told me that Langas has no water and sewage. Right now we have given you Kshs1.5 billion water and sewage system,” Ruto said. At that moment however, a section of his audience fell down after whatever they were standing on collapsed because of too much weight.
“Careful so that you don’t fall,” DP Ruto was heard telling those who had fallen down and immediately proceeded with his speech. It is however not clear if anyone was injured from the incident.
Reacting to the occurrence, a number of netizens felt that was one of the consequences of DP Ruto’s lies. Others however said that that is how he will lose in the August 9 general elections as others wondered why Ruto would tell people who had already fallen down to be careful not to fall. Below are some of the reactions.
“That’s a demonstration on how Ruto ataanguka this August,” Allan Kihambillu said.
“Amesema mjiadhari musianguke’ yeye’ after the fall, hope no one was injured though,” Monica Maina’s comment read.
“Which committee passed this bill of ksh 1.5b of langas and in which parliament ……bullshit ruto,” Ajusto Juma said
“Fools are those who rejoice when their neighbor is hurt thinking that it’s the leader who will feel pain on their behalf,” Jackline Constantine noted.
