The hustler nation has invoked a campaign plan the Jubilee Party heads never saw coming.
Over the past few weeks, Deputy President has been busy firing up his support base while his allies have been busy disrupting Jubilee Party Secretary-General Rafael Tuju.
The better part of Wednesday William Ruto was busy escalating his meeting with grassroots networks as his close ally pressured Jubilee to release its funds.
Jubilee Party Deputy Secretary-General Caleb Kositany have insisted that Raphael Tuju should give certified reports on all financial expenditure.
Last week Tuju told Kositany that all the information he required should be accessible to him by his position in the party a statement that Kositany declined saying it was only Tuju who would provide such documents and report.
“I remind you that the office of the secretary-general is the custodian of the documentation, party information, and reports,” Kositany said in a letter to Tuju.
“I thus still demand the same be availed soonest for this information is not for my consumption. That is why I am demanding the same publicly.”
Previously Kositany asked Tuju to provide certified statements of the party spanning four years.
The MP claimed that the party had withdrawn Sh183 million in six months in 2018 for the party headquarters rent yet the party does not occupy all floors in the eight-story building.
Soy MP also demanded lease or tenancy agreement for the premises in Pangani and a schedule of all paid rent for the financial year 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2019-2020.
According to Kositany Jubilee county offices are not operational, yet in the financial records of the party, millions of shillings are allocated for rent.
Kositany told his boss off over the use of official Jubilee party stationery. He said he is an official and he is entitled to use them to communicate party matters.
While Kositany was busy disrupting Tuju with party matters, Ruto was busy hosting delegations from Mt Kenya, Nairobi and Nyanza regions at his official residence in Karen, a day after meeting “hustlers” from Nyeri and Murang’ counties.
At the moment, DP Ruto plans to woo the ordinary Kenyans to own his 2022 presidential campaigns, unlike his previous campaigns that were led by key point men.
Early this week the DP hosted a family from Nyeri that brought him cassava. He also met the children of the late Ann Wangui, his supporter, and key grassroots mobilizer.
“Glad I met her friends and family today to assure them that we will walk together in this journey of life, and assured them that it was possible to achieve our dreams, our background and prevailing circumstances notwithstanding,” the DP said after the meeting.
The DP promised to support the children through school.
Ruto later held a meeting with Mary Wambui and her daughter Abilasha – the young girl who attempted to recite a poem to Ruto in Kiambu but failed.
“Determined and undeterred they made another shot, traveling eight hours from Mombasa. Mother and daughter arrived in Kandara, Muranga County, waited for six hours while negotiating the program to allow little Muthoni to recite her piece to me,” Ruto said.

Ruto added, “Immediately after the recital, she put her case to me about her aspirations and goals and the impediment on her way. Abilasha and her mother, Mary, did not allow circumstances to determine their future. They believed in themselves. Determined and resilient.”
Ruto gave the young girl’s mother a new car for her taxi business and pledged to support her in her education.
