DP Gachagua’s Wife Sheds Tears As She Narrates Sad Story Of Migori Woman

Date:

DP Rigathi Gachagua’s wife Dorcas Rigathi was overwhelmed with emotions as she shared a story of a Migori widow, who was forced to sell her body so that she can get food to raise her child.

The second lady was captured wiping tears, as she wondered why religion was not coming in to help such women.

“I went to Migori and a widow there was selling her body so that she can be able to raise her child. And we still talk about religion! It is very bad and that is why I have been looking for ways through which we can be able to help our women.

“Just ask yourself, what if it was your mother doing that to raise your school fees? As a Church, together with Muslims, come up with plans to uplift our women so that they can help their children,” she said while addressing religious leaders in Kilifi.

Pastor Dorcas went ahead to share the ordeal she also went through with her mother and siblings after the death of their father.

According to her, they were mistreated by relatives who went ahead to sell their land.

“It only took two years after my father died for our land to be sold. We were chased and went to my maternal grandmother. We were also chased from there and went to live in the ghetto.

“That is why I do not care which religion you belong to, you are my sister and brother,” she said.
