For the better part of Wednesday morning, social media has been awashed with the news of one Maureen Nyaboke killing Wangui Wambeca’s son.
According to information from Wangui Wambeca, she employed Maureen Nyaboke on Tuesday and decided to release her the next day on Wednesday for beating her kid.
Fast-forward, the kid would die on Saturday due to internal bleedings according to them.
“Tuesday,You employ a house manager ,Anachapa mtoto wako. Wednesday you decide to release her.. After medical checkup anapatikana na internal bleeding. Saturday,The kid dies ?..The house manager is still on the run. Appealing to members of the public to help circulate and report the person whose ID is attached here. Name: Maureen Nyaboke
Residence: Nyatieko,Kisii Central. my deepest condolence to Wangui Wambeca , so sad for a parent to lose a child may the lord give you peace girl.” Read the statement.
However, some Kenyans have questioned the authenticity of those accusations levelled against Maureen Nyaboke whose side of the story is yet to be heard. These netizens are still struggling to understand how a maid started beating a young kid within a day given that she was employed on Tuesday then released on Wednesday.
Other conflicting reports claim that Wangui Wambeca’s son fell from the building at the time she was with the househelp Maureen Nyaboke. However, due to fear of being victimized by the parents, Maureen Nyaboke chose to keep quiet on the same. Below is what one Bettern Chero Kibet wrote about the whole melee:
“WHAT SOCIAL MEDIA DOESN’T SAY
- Truth is maid had finished two weeks .
- Truth is kid fall from first floor boys being boys (negligence of the maid even if she was washing).
Employer was so a scare to the maid hence maid was unable to speak the truth that the kid fall .
- Kid crying all day wasn’t about beating but pain from the fall that later resulted to death
- Truth you aren’t ready to speak
- Lesson : Be kind to your maid , otherwise this was avoidable death kid was to be rushed to hospital . Fear of maid to employer resulted to death .
- Postmortem will exonerate facts from fiction it’s all about blunt force or fall
Rest In Peace champ , may peace prevail .. deepest condolences to the young mum.” He wrote.
With accusations being thrown left right and center, It seems whatever really happened in this case is still not clear and only the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) will unravel the death of the young child and put speculations to rest.
In the meantime, unverified sources claim that Maureen Nyaboke has been arrested somewhere around Mwihoko while holding the deceased boy’s bag.
