President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday night paid a courtesy call to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Amollo Odinga at his Karen home.
The visit came as a surprise because the Azimio presidential candidate had not been seen in public limelight ever since the Supreme court held the victory of his rival competitor president elect William Samoei Ruto.
Pictures of Raila Odinga, James Orengo, lawyer Paul Mwangi, Makau Mutua and president Uhuru Kenyatta accompanied by his inner circles were shared online for the better part of Tuesday night.
However, it has now emerged that president Uhuru was forced to visit Raila at night because sources around the ODM leader revealed that he has not been feeling well and has been recovering for the past few days. Thus, the president went to wish the ODM a quick recovery.
Even from the photos shared, the Azimio leader had a swollen face and it remains unclear what made it swell. Consequently, he was at some point forced to put on a face mask to cover the unfortunate condition. Other photos without face mask showed that Mr. Odinga was not just okay.
His followers were also quick to notice that something was not right with the ODM leader because he looked different given the swellings on the face. The following comments proved that the ODM boss was not okay:
“Get well soon baba. Kenya will miss you deeply. Asante Uhuru Kenyatta, Kisumu is a much better place after the handshake.”
“Eyi! This pic has broken my heart some more! What happened to baba’s face.”
“The jakom I know is different from the one in this picture. May your face heal and I wish you well.”
“So Uhuru went to confirm if Baba is still breaching ? Hadi baba amefura uso.”
“Baba has something going he is not well. The face and lips are kind of swollen. May he get well soon.”
“Get well soon raila. Thank you president Uhuru you are a true friend. We, the Luo nation, are grateful.”
