Details have emerged that the Amani national Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi is not comfortable with the choice of Moses Wetangula as the speaker of the National Assembly.
According to one Herman Manyora, he will not be shocked if Musalia Mudavadi instructs his members of parliament to back Azimio’s Kenneth Marende at the expense of Moses Wetangula.
Manyora opines that Musalia risks being thrown to the pit of irrelevance in Kenya Kwanza and the entire Western politics because the speaker will be the third most powerful person in the country.
It is also said that Moses Wetangula brought more Luhya votes from Bungoma unlike Mudavadi who was beaten by the Azimio presidential candidate Raila odinga in his own Vihiga hometurf. Consequently, sources within Mudavadi believe that he will be wiped politically the minute Wetangula will be declared speaker.
Besides, there are those who believe that president elect William Ruto is uncomfortable with Musalia Mudavadi since he may pose political threat to him some years to come. This explains why Rutos sponsored his UDA candidate to defeat Musalia’s ANC candidate in his own home constituency and create a narrative that he is a political weakling.
United Democratic Alliance’s Clement Sloya of the United Democratic Alliance thoroughly defeated Mr. Ayodi of ANC to become the Sabatia member of parliament where Mudavadi comes from..At some point during the campaigns, Musalia literally went to cry to his people to have mercy on him and elect his ANC candidate and reject the UDA one. Mudavadi told his supporters that even Ruto would not allow an ANC candidate to be his MP back in Sugoi.
Fastforward, many believe that Ruto is not yet done with finishing Mudavadi politically and the move to back Moses Wetangula as the speaker of parliament may just be his last nail of Mudavadi’s political coffin. Thus, Kenyans await to see if Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC MPS will rally behind Wetangula to further finish off their boss in the Mulembe Nation politics.
